Terms and Conditions
The International Writers’ Workshop-Ghana
July 26 – August 7, 2009
All participants should read the terms and conditions below. Once accepted into the program please mail your proof of overseas medical insurance to our office. Please make sure this document along with your full payment arrives in our office by June 1, 2009.
The price of $3395.00 US dollars per person is based on a group of 10-20 participants.
Deposits: a deposit of $195 must be included with your application. If you are accepted into the program, you must send proof of overseas medical insurance. We must receive the remaining balance in full by June 1, 2009.
Only payments made on time will guarantee a place in the program.

Complimentary airport pick up is available on July 26th. Complimentary shuttle service to the airport for departures is available August 7th. Participants will be responsible for arranging airport shuttle transportation at any other dates.

1. If for some reason the program is cancelled, all monies will be refunded to participants.
2. If a participant is not accepted into the program, all monies will be refunded.
3. If a participant voluntarily withdraws from the program before June 1st, all monies, (except the US$195 deposit) will be refunded.
4. Participants who cancel after June 1st, will be charged a US$500 cancellation fee.
5. Once the program begins, no refunds will be made, regardless of whether a participant attends the program.
6. The effective date of cancellation will be the date the written notice of cancellation is received by the program director.

Health insurance is mandatory. All participants must submit proof of health insurance with their full payment.
Trip and baggage insurance is recommended. For your peace of mind, we strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance as well as trip cancellation insurance when booking your ticket.
In the event insufficient numbers of participants register 21 days before the program begins, the IAWW reserves the right to cancel the program or increase the price if necessary. If an event, segment, or excursion outlined in the itinerary becomes unavailable, the IAWW reserves the right to substitute an event, segment or excursion of equal or greater value.
The IAWW reserves the right to alter the order, or delete altogether, any element in the itinerary or modify, exchange, or adjust any reservation, feature, space, mode of transport without advance notice for any reason; however if the services rendered are significantly diminished, a refund in proportion to the service reduction will be issued to participants who submit a request in writing to the IAWW. If the itinerary is changed significantly, the IAWW will notify participants prior to the program start date and participants will have the chance to withdraw with full refund.
The IAWW reserves the right to accept, retain or decline any person as a participant or program member any time before departure or during the tour. Any participant who is removed from the trip will be refunded an amount in proportion to unused services.

Management and Responsibilities
The IAWW is not a travel agency and in all matters relating to the making of arrangements for accommodations, sightseeing tours and services provided incident thereto, entertainment, and transportation by air, railroad, taxi, car, truck, boat, or motor bus, can assume no responsibility for and cannot be held liable for any personal injury, property damage, or other loss, accident, delay, inconvenience or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of (l) any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions on the part of any of the suppliers, (2) any wrongful, negligent or unauthorized acts or omissions on the part of any employee of any of these suppliers, (3) any defect in or failure of any vehicle, equipment or instrumentality owned, operated or otherwise used by any of these suppliers or (4) any wrongful or negligent acts or omissions of any other party not under the control, direct or otherwise, of the IAWW. In the absence of negligence, the IAWW accepts no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in air or other services, medical issues of any kind, weather, strikes, or other causes or circumstances beyond its control.
Airlines concerned are not to be held responsible for any act, omission or event during the time passengers are not on board their planes or conveyance. Passengers shall be subject to the terms and conditions of the passage contract entered into between the carriers and each passenger.
